The Retail Cable Tech at Helix Electric plays a crucial role in supporting our commercial projects by ensuring the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network cabling systems. This position requires a blend of technical skills, industry knowledge, and a commitment to safety standards, enabling the seamless operation of electrical and network systems in a commercial environment.

Requirements for Retail Cable Tech

Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects

• Install, test, and maintain structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic cables, in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• Perform network testing using specialized tools to ensure system performance and integrity.
• Conduct fiber splicing with precision using Fujikura fiber splicers.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.

Required Certifications

• Network+ Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification

Experience and Skills

• 3-5 years of electrical experience, particularly in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for the state of South Carolina.
• Proficient in using network testing tools and fiber splicers (Fujikura).
• Familiarity with OSHA 10 standards and practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
• Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Safety Knowledge

• Strong understanding of electrical safety practices.
• Commitment to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with OSHA 10 certification.
• Prior experience with commercial projects, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these environments.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Greenville, SC
• Neighboring cities touching Greenville, SC: Mauldin, Taylors, Greer, and Simpsonville.
• Schedule: Full-time

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $24.03-$26.85 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
