The Office Cable Tech at Helix Electric plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless installation and maintenance of cabling systems within commercial environments. Requirements for Office Cable Tech

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in commercial settings.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment, including Fiber Splicers (Fujikura) and Cable Certifiers (Fluke DSX).
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Interpret blueprints and technical documents to execute project plans accurately.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA standards.

Required Certifications

• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.

Experience

• 3-5 years of electrical experience, particularly in commercial environments.
• Valid electrical license for Illinois.
• Proficiency with Fiber Splicers (Fujikura) and understanding of OSHA 10 requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and heights.

Safety Knowledge

• Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Cable Certifiers (Fluke DSX).
• Previous experience working on commercial projects.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Chicago, IL.
• Neighboring cities: Evanston, Oak Park, Cicero, Berwyn, and Skokie.
• Schedule: Full-time position, requiring flexibility to meet project deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $22.97-$25.79 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
