Overview of Healthcare Cable Tech Role

The Healthcare Cable Tech at Helix Electric will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-voltage systems in healthcare and other commercial environments. This position requires a technician who is not only skilled in technical aspects but also understands the unique demands and standards of working in healthcare settings.

Requirements for Healthcare Cable Tech

• Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects

  • Install, terminate, and test network cabling and fiber optics in healthcare facilities and other commercial settings.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and repairs to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and protocols, particularly in sensitive environments like hospitals.
  • Document work completed and maintain accurate records for project tracking and quality assurance.

• Required Certifications

  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Manufacturer Certifications (Commscope/Panduit).
  • Experience with BICSI Certifications and OSHA 10.

• Experience with

  • Use of OTDR Testing Equipment.
  • Working on a variety of commercial projects including office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of electrical experience.

• Valid Electrical License

  • Must hold a valid electrical license for Colorado.

• Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

• Safety Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations, particularly in healthcare environments.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience with OTDR Testing Equipment.
• Prior experience in commercial project settings, particularly within healthcare facilities.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: Broomfield, CO
• Neighboring Cities: Westminster, Superior, Lafayette, Louisville, and Northglenn.
• Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours. Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $23.79-$26.44 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
