Overview of the Apprentice Electrician Role

The Apprentice Electrician position at H & A Electric offers an exciting opportunity to work within our dynamic commercial division. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience working on diverse commercial projects such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools. You will work under the supervision of experienced electricians, learning the trade and contributing to our projects’ success.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial settings.
• Support the team in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Help with the installation of wiring systems and electrical apparatus in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing necessary repairs.
• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.

Required Certifications and Experience

• First Aid/CPR certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• 1-2 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Tennessee.
• Proficiency with conduit benders (manual/electric) and basic AutoCAD.
• Experience working with digital multimeters (Fluke) is crucial.
• Must be physically capable of lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
• Committed to safety protocols and practices.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with digital multimeters (Fluke) in a commercial environment.
• Direct experience working on commercial projects is a strong plus.

• Primary location: Chattanooga, TN.
• Nearby cities include East Ridge, Red Bank, and Soddy-Daisy, TN.
• Schedule: Full-time position with consistent hours and potential for overtime.
