Key Responsibilities

• Learn residential electrical installation techniques, including load calculations and circuit design.
• Assist with smart home technology installation and system programming.
• Install structured wiring systems for modern homes and energy-efficient lighting design.
• Assist with solar system installation and energy storage systems.
• Install whole-house surge protection and learn proper crimping and termination techniques.
• Assist with troubleshooting using digital meters and maintain material inventory and job site organization.
• Document installation progress and changes.
• Participate in local projects requiring compliance with Lincoln’s electrical codes and regulations.
• Adapt to seasonal weather variations specific to the Lincoln area to ensure timely project completion.
• Engage with community service projects to enhance local residential energy efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with strong math skills.
• Enrolled in an approved apprenticeship program.
• Basic understanding of construction methods and ability to read and interpret residential blueprints.
• Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Physical ability to work in confined spaces and good color vision for wire identification.
• Basic hand tools required.
• 0-1 years of experience required for apprentice work in a residential setting.
• Familiarity with Lincoln’s building permit processes and regulations.
• Ability to travel within the Lincoln metro area for various project sites.
