Position Overview at Convergint
The Cable Technician position at Convergint in Gainesville, GA, involves installing, maintaining, and repairing cable systems in office buildings. The role requires working closely with project teams to ensure high-quality and timely completion of installations and repairs. This position may also require travel to neighboring cities for project assignments.
Essential Functions for Cable Technician
- Install, terminate, and test cables for office building projects.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing cable systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure project specifications are met.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards in all installations and repairs.
- Document and report on project progress and any issues encountered.
Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at Convergint
- 2-5 years of experience in cable installation and maintenance.
- Required certification: BICSI Installer 2.
- Proficient in using Punch Down Tools and Fiber Optic Tools.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: BICSI Technician.
- Extensive experience with advanced Punch Down Tools.
- Specialized experience in working on large-scale office building projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Gainesville, GA.
- Additional locations: Flowery Branch, Oakwood, Braselton, Jefferson, and Buford.
- Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $27.86-$33.24 per hour.
