The General Foreman Position

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a General Foreman at ChargePoint, you will be at the heart of our construction operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing site activities, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring that all teams work harmoniously towards project completion. You will manage multiple crews, ensuring that work is performed safely and efficiently, adhering to project timelines and budgets.

Core General Foreman Responsibilities

Project Management

You will oversee and manage the civil scope of work for medium to large-scale electrical projects. Your responsibilities will include supervising crews performing tasks such as excavation, backfill, rebar, concrete pouring, bollard installation, and asphalt work.

Technical Duties

Advanced duties include utilizing advanced surveying techniques for precise layout and alignment, implementing data-driven project management strategies, and optimizing resource allocation using construction management software.

Regional Project Specifics

In the Aliso Viejo region, projects often involve interfacing with local municipalities and adhering to specific environmental standards. Your role will require a thorough understanding of regional regulations and practices.

Safety Protocols

Safety is paramount. You will conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings, enforce compliance with SWIPPs, and ensure all crew certifications and equipment meet current standards. Implementing a robust safety-first culture is a critical component of the role.

Required Experience & Skills

Experience

A minimum of 8-10 years as a lead project foreman in commercial civil construction is required. Experience with excavation, concrete, rebar, and asphalt is essential.

Certifications

Preferred certifications include OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR. A valid driver’s license with a clean record is also necessary.

Technical Knowledge

Proficiency in the California Building Code and OSHA safety standards is crucial. Familiarity with construction project management software, such as Site Tracker, is also required.

Daily Tools

General Foremans use tools including laser levels, GPS equipment, and concrete mixers. Personal tools such as hammers, measuring tapes, and wrenches are essential.
