Commercial Electrician at Braco Electrical

Key Responsibilities
Design and install complete electrical systems for commercial construction, calculate voltage drop and load requirements, and coordinate with BIM modeling teams for conflict resolution. Supervise prefabrication of electrical assemblies and implement complex lighting control systems. Install and program fire alarm systems, manage material logistics for large projects, and coordinate overhead rough-in with mechanical trades. Perform startup and commissioning of building systems and mentor apprentices in commercial installation techniques. Conduct energy audits specific to Madison’s environmental policies and ensure compliance with local fire safety codes. Engage with community energy initiatives and facilitate training workshops for local apprentices.
Required Qualifications
Journeyman License, extensive experience with lighting control systems (DALI, DMX), proven expertise in fire alarm installation and programming, and demonstrated ability with BIM software for coordination. Advanced knowledge of emergency power systems and certification in multiple lift equipment types. Strong project management and leadership skills, experience with green building requirements and energy codes. 3-5 years of experience required for Journeyman work in a commercial setting. Familiarity with Madison’s regional energy efficiency programs and experience working within Dane County’s construction regulations.
