Black Box Voice & Data is seeking a highly skilled Voice & Data Cable Technician to join our team in Raleigh, NC. This role revolves around installing, terminating, and testing a variety of network cables to support our government clients, including federal agencies, state offices, and military facilities. Our ideal candidate possesses 5-8 years of hands-on experience and thrives in a collaborative environment as part of a specialized 3-5 person team. This position operates on the first shift, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with local travel within a 30-mile radius of Raleigh.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test voice and data cables in government facilities.
• Conduct thorough network analysis and cable certification using tools such as Fluke Networks and OTDR testing.
• Collaborate with a specialized team to deliver timely and efficient cabling solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and government standards.
• Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support to ensure optimal network performance.
• Document installation processes and maintain organized project files.

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in network cable installation and maintenance.
• Network+ and Cisco CCNA certifications.
• Proficiency in using network analysis and cable certification tools.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards in government settings.
• Ability to work the first shift and travel within a 30-mile radius.

Preferred Qualifications

• BICSI Technician certification.
• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
• Experience working in government or military facility environments.
