This role is crucial for the structured cabling installation in data center environments across Ankeny and its neighboring cities such as Des Moines, Ames, and Johnston. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, including the upcoming expansion of the Ankeny Data Center Complex.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and dress Category 6/6A cabling systems.
• Terminate copper and fiber connections.
• Maintain proper cable management in server racks.
• Install overhead cable tray and ladder rack.
• Perform cable testing and certification.
• Document test results and warranties.
• Maintain clean room protocols.
• Organize patch panel layouts.
• Implement proper cable routing and separation.
• Assist with fiber trunk installation.
• Maintain detailed labeling systems.
• Conduct cabling work in compliance with Iowa state regulations.
• Participate in the Ankeny Data Center Complex expansion project.

Required Qualifications

• BICSI Installer 1 preferred.
• Experience with structured cabling systems.
• Proficiency in cable termination techniques.
• Knowledge of testing procedures.
• Understanding of cable management best practices.
• Ability to read network drawings.
• Experience with labeling systems.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of network hardware.
• 1-3 years of experience required for Voice Data work in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Iowa-specific building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in the Ankeny area.
