The Cable Tech role at WiLine in Victorville, CA, focuses on the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems in office buildings. This position involves working closely with project managers and clients to ensure the successful deployment of low voltage cabling systems. The Cable Tech will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery in Victorville and the surrounding cities.

Requirements for Cable Tech

• Key Responsibilities for Cable Tech at WiLine:

  • Install and maintain low voltage cabling systems in office buildings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair cabling issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.

• Low Voltage Cabling Installation for Cable Tech:

  • Run, terminate, and test cables including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Document installation processes and update project records.

• Tool Proficiency for Daily Tasks for Cable Tech:

  • Proficient use of cable testers, crimping tools, and fusion splicers.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and usage of ladders and lifts.
  • Familiarity with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches.

• Daily Tasks:

  • Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs.
  • Install network racks, patch panels, and cable management systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal system performance.

• Project Involvement:

  • Participate in planning meetings to provide technical insights.
  • Coordinate with project managers to align installation schedules.
  • Assist in training junior technicians and apprentices.

Qualifications for Cable Tech at WiLine

• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in telecommunications or a related field.
• Certification: OSHA 10 certification is required.
• Tool Experience: Familiarity with Punch Down Tools and Fiber Optic Tools.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional Certification: BICSI Technician certification is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $24.39-$29.73 per hour, commensurate with experience.
