Voice Data Installer at Vision Technologies

Vision Technologies is seeking a dedicated Voice/Data Installation Technician to join our team in Topeka, KS. This role involves working in commercial environments and requires coordination with other trades. As a technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining structured cabling systems. Topeka is conveniently located near Lawrence, Manhattan, and Kansas City, providing a dynamic region for both work and leisure. The position requires some local travel between job sites within these areas.

Qualifications

• Education & Certification Requirements

  • BICSI Installer 1 certification preferred
  • OSHA-10 certification required

• Experience

  • 1-5 years of experience in voice and data work within a commercial setting

• Skills & Knowledge

  • Understanding of structured cabling standards
  • Proficiency in termination techniques and testing procedures
  • Experience with cable installation and Fluke testing equipment
  • Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards
  • Proficiency in cable management and labeling conventions
  • Valid driver’s license

Key Responsibilities

• Install voice and data cabling systems
• Terminate jacks and panels
• Test connections using appropriate equipment

• Document installations accurately
