Position Overview at T&D Communications
As a Cable Technician at T&D Communications, you will play a critical role in supporting healthcare facilities in Salem, VA, and neighboring cities by installing and maintaining cable systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that communication networks are functioning optimally to meet the specific needs of healthcare environments.
Essential Functions for Cable Technician
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in healthcare facilities.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of cable systems to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installations and repairs.
Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at T&D Communications
- 2-5 years of experience in cable installation and maintenance.
- Required certification: BICSI Technician.
- Proficiency in using Cable Management Systems and Fiber Optic Tools.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: Network+ Certification.
- Experience with Punch Down Tools.
- Previous experience in healthcare facility projects is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to cable installation.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Salem, VA.
- Additional locations: Roanoke, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Lynchburg.
- Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime and weekend work based on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $26.75-$31.58 per hour.
