Fiber Optic Splicing Technician at Staley Technologies
Position Overview
Staley Technologies is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our team in Quincy, WA. This pivotal role involves leading a team of 4-6 technicians at our cutting-edge Edge Data Center, which serves telecom providers, content delivery networks, and IoT services. With a focus on excellence and precision, you’ll be integral to maintaining and developing our fiber optic infrastructure, ensuring seamless service delivery to our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of technicians in fiber optic splicing projects.
- Perform high-quality splicing and maintenance on fiber optic cables.
- Conducting testing and troubleshooting using fusion splicers, power meters, visual fault locators, and OTDR.
- Collaborate with project managers and client stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain precise project documentation and compliance with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in fiber optic splicing and maintenance.
- ETA Fiber Optics certification.
- OFC Specialist certification.
- Proficient in using fusion splicers, power meters, visual fault locators, and OTDR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications in OFC Specialist and ETA Fiber Optics.
- Experience leading a team in an Edge Data Center environment.
- Familiarity with regional industry standards and practices.
