Fiber Optic Technician at Shelby Communications

Key Responsibilities
As part of our team, you’ll design and implement fiber optic networks, perform precise fusion splicing operations, and test and certify fiber installations. You’ll also maintain splice documentation, install fiber distribution systems, configure DWDM systems, and perform OTDR testing. Keeping our work environment spick and span and responding to emergencies are also part of your day-to-day. Training the next generation of techs is a bonus! In the Odessa area, you’ll help coordinate pathway installations and implement fiber management systems. Join us on a large upcoming project in the Odessa area that promises to be both challenging and exciting.
Required Qualifications
We’re looking for someone with an FOA certification and extensive experience with fusion splicing and OTDR testing. You should have advanced knowledge of fiber types, certification in multiple splice platforms, and strong troubleshooting skills. Two to five years of experience in a commercial setting is required. If you have experience with large-scale energy sector installations, and familiarity with local regulations in Odessa, that’s a big plus!
