Overview of Commercial Cable Technician Role

As a Commercial Cable Technician at Rogers Electric, you will be an integral part of our team, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cable systems in a commercial environment. You will work closely with project managers and other technicians to deliver exceptional service on various large-scale projects. Essential Functions

• Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain structured cabling systems including data, voice, and video communication systems. Ensure high-quality installations that meet industry standards and customer specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cabling systems. Provide efficient solutions to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operation for clients.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certifications. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and company policies.
• Project Management Support: Assist in planning and executing projects in various commercial settings such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools. Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Prepare detailed reports as required for project documentation and client communication.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of electrical experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Licensing: Must hold a valid electrical license for the state of Georgia.
• Certifications: Current certifications in OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, and Basic Electrical Safety are mandatory.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• BICSI Experience: Previous experience with BICSI standards and practices is highly desirable.
• Commercial Project Experience: Demonstrated experience working on commercial projects, showcasing the ability to handle complex installations and challenges.
