Overview of the Retail Cable Tech Role

As a Retail Cable Tech at Rogers Electric, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of our commercial projects. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of cable systems in a variety of commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role requires a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

Requirements for Retail Cable Tech

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems in commercial environments.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of cable systems as needed to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Required Certifications

• BICSI Installer 2
• OSHA 10

Experience

• Proficient with Cable Certifiers (Fluke DSX) and Fiber Splicers (Fujikura).
• Experience in commercial projects such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• 3-5 years of electrical experience.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Texas.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with OSHA 10 is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial project settings.

Location & Schedule

The primary location for this position is in Cedar Park, TX. Cedar Park is conveniently located near several neighboring cities, including Austin, Round Rock, Leander, and Georgetown, providing a dynamic environment with plenty of opportunities for growth and development.

• Schedule: Full-time, with the possibility of overtime and weekend work depending on project needs.
