Job Overview: Prime Partners is seeking a highly skilled Voice & Data Technician to join our team in Palmdale, CA. The successful applicant will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of voice and data systems, with a focus on new commercial construction and big box retail stores. This role also includes working in the surrounding cities bordering Palmdale, including Lancaster, Quartz Hill, and Rosamond.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair voice and data systems in commercial new construction and big box retail environments.
2. Test and troubleshoot issues with network communication.
3. Conduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure the system is working correctly.
4. Install, terminate, test, label and document all types of fiber optic horizontal, backbone and outside plant cables.
5. Communicate with project management, design, and other team members regarding any voice and data issues.
6. Install, test and certify network cabling in compliance with industry standards.
7. Adhere to all local and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Voice & Data Technician or similar role within the electrical industry.
3. Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
4. Knowledge and understanding of commercial construction sites.
5. Experience with computer networking, structured cabling, and fiber optic technology.
6. Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently and in team settings.
9. Strong communication and customer service skills.

Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
2. Must be comfortable working at heights and using ladders.
3. Must be able to work in different weather conditions.
4. Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends as needed.
5. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
