What You’ll Do as a Service Electrician

As a Service Electrician at Prime Partners, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing electrical systems across a variety of commercial settings. Our current multi-year project is based in Peachtree Corners, GA, with additional opportunities in nearby cities like Norcross, Duluth, Alpharetta, and Johns Creek. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of electrical systems in retail, office, and industrial facilities. Expect hands-on work that keeps you engaged and directly impacts the success of our projects.

Your Daily Tasks as a Service Electrician

Responding to Service Calls

Your main responsibility will be responding to commercial service calls. These calls involve diagnosing and repairing electrical issues in retail, office, and industrial environments. You’ll be the go-to person for troubleshooting lighting systems, breakers, control circuits, and distribution panels, ensuring that any disruptions are resolved swiftly and efficiently.

Performing Installations and Upgrades

You’ll also be tasked with completing small installations, such as circuit additions, panel upgrades, and lighting retrofits. This includes ensuring all installations meet NEC standards and company quality expectations. Your expertise will help improve the energy efficiency and reliability of our clients’ electrical systems.

Client Communication and Documentation

Effective communication with clients is key. You’ll need to explain repair needs, provide timelines, and offer professional recommendations. Keeping accurate service logs, work orders, and material lists is essential to maintain transparency and efficiency in all projects.

Additional Daily Activities

• Conduct routine maintenance checks and assess potential electrical risks.
• Collaborate with other technicians and construction teams to integrate electrical systems into broader project plans.
• Implement safety protocols and ensure all work complies with local electrical codes and regulations.

What You Need to Be a Service Electrician

Required Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must be a licensed journeyman electrician or possess equivalent experience in service work. A minimum of 4+ years in the field as a Service Electrician is required, demonstrating your ability to handle a wide range of commercial electrical systems.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with lighting control systems, switchgear, emergency power, and tenant improvements.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and document work clearly.

A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are also required, as travel between job sites is an integral part of the job.
