What You’ll Do as a Security Technician

As a Security Technician at Prime Partners, you’ll be at the forefront of securing our commercial projects in Norwood, OH, and the surrounding areas, including Cincinnati, Reading, and Sharonville. Our multi-year project is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in installing and maintaining security systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and security of our client’s premises through the precise installation and maintenance of various security systems. Your role is essential in keeping projects on track and ensuring that installations meet the highest standards.

Your Daily Tasks as a Security Technician

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a variety of security systems, including IP cameras, access control systems, motion detectors, and alarm systems. You will be pulling, terminating, and labeling low-voltage cables, ensuring that all installations adhere to site specifications and industry standards. Comprehensive on-site testing will be a crucial part of your role to verify system functionality, connectivity, and power reliability.

Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with project managers and general contractors to align installations with project timelines. Maintaining accurate installation records and documentation is vital, and you’ll ensure all systems meet customer and industry standards. An integral part of your job will also involve training clients on basic system operations and troubleshooting techniques.

Additionally, you will:

• Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure ongoing system reliability and performance.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients as needed.

What You Need to Be a Security Technician

To excel in this role, you should have 1-3 years of experience as a Security Technician or in a related field. You must possess a strong understanding of security systems installation and a solid knowledge of cable routing and termination. Familiarity with camera systems and proficiency in troubleshooting both hardware and software issues are essential.
