What You’ll Do as a Security Technician
As a Security Technician at Prime Partners, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our commercial projects in Manhattan Beach, CA, and nearby locations such as Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and El Segundo. This multi-year project demands a hands-on approach to installing and maintaining state-of-the-art security systems. Your daily work will focus on delivering practical, effective solutions to keep our clients’ properties secure.
Your Daily Tasks as a Security Technician
Install and Configure Security Systems
You’ll be responsible for installing and configuring a variety of security systems, including IP cameras, access control systems, motion detectors, and alarm systems at our commercial job sites. Your work will involve ensuring each component is properly installed and functioning as intended.
Cable Management and System Testing
You’ll pull, terminate, and label low-voltage cables, ensuring they are routed correctly and comply with site specifications. Once installed, you’ll perform comprehensive on-site testing to verify the system’s functionality, connectivity, and power reliability.
Collaborate with Team Members
Working closely with project managers and general contractors, you’ll align installations with project timelines and requirements. Your role will be integral to maintaining the flow of communication and ensuring that the installation process meets all deadlines.
Maintain Installation Records
You’ll maintain accurate installation records and documentation, ensuring each system meets customer and industry standards. This involves a keen eye for detail and precision in record-keeping.
Client Training and Support
You’ll provide training to clients on basic system operation and troubleshooting, helping them understand how to effectively use their new security systems. This task requires patience and clear communication skills.
Additional Daily Activities
- Conduct routine maintenance and system checks to ensure continued operation.
- Diagnose and resolve any technical issues that arise post-installation.

What You Need to Be a Security Technician
To succeed in this role, you’ll need experience with security systems installation and a solid understanding of cable routing and termination. Familiarity with camera systems and proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues are essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are a must.
