What You’ll Do as a Security Alarm Installer

As a Security Alarm Installer at Prime Partners, you will be at the forefront of securing commercial spaces in Lee’s Summit, MO, and its neighboring cities such as Blue Springs, Independence, and Raytown. You’ll play a critical role in our multi-year projects, ensuring that new constructions are equipped with top-tier security systems. This position demands a proactive approach to installing, programming, and maintaining security equipment, with a day-to-day focus on delivering high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Your Daily Tasks as a Security Alarm Installer

Installation and Setup

Your primary responsibility is the installation of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems, in new commercial buildings. You’ll run and terminate low-voltage wiring to connect alarms, cameras, and access devices, ensuring all components are securely and correctly installed.

System Programming and Testing

After installation, you’ll program and test systems to verify their functionality. This involves configuring software settings, testing alarms, and ensuring video feeds are clear and uninterrupted. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in identifying and resolving any initial issues before systems go live.

Troubleshooting and Optimization

You will regularly perform on-site troubleshooting to address any malfunctions or inefficiencies. This includes diagnosing problems, making necessary adjustments, and ensuring systems are operating at peak performance. Your technical expertise will help in quickly resolving issues, minimizing downtime for our clients.

Training and Support

An integral part of your role is to train end-users on how to operate their new security systems. You’ll provide clear instructions and ongoing support, empowering clients to manage their security effectively. Your ability to communicate technical information in an understandable way is essential.

Coordination and Collaboration

You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure that all installations meet design specifications and are completed within project timelines. This involves coordinating with other trades on-site and adapting to any changes in project scope or design.

• Conduct site assessments to determine the optimal placement of security devices.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and client interactions.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

What You Need to Be a Security Alarm Installer

Experience and Expertise

• At least 2+ years of experience in the field as a Security Alarm Installer.
• Proven proficiency with low-voltage security systems and wiring.

Essential Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting access control and surveillance systems.
• Ability to effectively train clients and communicate technical information clearly.
