Security Alarm Installer Position Overview

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Security Alarm Installer at Prime Partners, your daily responsibilities will include planning and executing the installation and maintenance of security systems such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of these systems into new construction environments.

Core Security Alarm Installer Responsibilities

• Install, program, and test sophisticated security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems, in commercial new construction settings.
• Run and terminate low-voltage wiring for alarm components, ensuring secure and reliable connections.
• Conduct on-site troubleshooting and adjustments to optimize system performance.
• Train end-users on operating security systems and provide ongoing support.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure installations meet design specifications and deadlines.
• Advanced Duties: Configure network settings for IP-based surveillance systems; integrate security systems with building management systems for enhanced automation; conduct comprehensive site surveys to tailor security solutions; implement advanced encryption protocols for secure data transmission.
• Regional Projects: Engage in high-profile security installations in nearby cities, ensuring compliance with regional standards and customer requirements.
• Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment and compliance with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Security Alarm Installer.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting access control, CCTV, and other surveillance systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to train clients on system operations effectively.
• Essential Certifications: NICET Level I/II in Fire Alarm Systems, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
• Required Technical Knowledge: Understanding of electrical schematics, network configuration, and low-voltage wiring.
