Your Daily Tasks as a Security Alarm Installer
Install, Program, and Test
Your primary responsibility will be installing, programming, and testing a range of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems, tailored for commercial new construction settings. You’ll ensure that each system is functioning optimally and meets the client’s security needs.
Run and Terminate Wiring
A significant part of your day will involve running and terminating low-voltage wiring for various alarm components. You’ll make sure these connections are secure and reliable, setting the foundation for a robust security system.
On-Site Troubleshooting and Adjustments
You’ll engage in on-site troubleshooting to address any system issues that arise, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance. This hands-on work ensures that systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
Train and Support End-Users
Training end-users on how to operate their new security systems is a key part of your role. You’ll provide clear instructions and ongoing support, ensuring clients feel confident and secure with their systems.

What You Need to Be a Security Alarm Installer
Experience and Skills
To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Security Alarm Installer. Your hands-on abilities and expertise in low-voltage security systems and wiring are crucial. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting access control and surveillance systems is expected.
