What You’ll Do as a Security Alarm Installer

As a Security Alarm Installer at Prime Partners, you’ll play a crucial role in safeguarding our commercial spaces in Billings, MT, and nearby cities like Laurel, Lockwood, and Shepherd. Your work will be integral to our multi-year projects, ensuring businesses are protected with top-notch security systems. This position is all about hands-on installation, programming, and testing of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems. You’ll be the go-to expert on site, making sure everything runs smoothly and securely.

Your Daily Tasks as a Security Alarm Installer

Install and Program Security Systems

You’ll start your day by reviewing project plans and specifications. Your primary task will be to install, program, and test various security systems in commercial new construction settings. This includes CCTV cameras, access controls, and intrusion detection systems.

Run and Terminate Low-Voltage Wiring

You’ll expertly run and terminate low-voltage wiring, ensuring all alarm components are securely connected. This requires precision and attention to detail to maintain system integrity and performance.

Conduct On-Site Troubleshooting

Problems may arise, and you’ll be ready to tackle them head-on. Conduct on-site troubleshooting and make necessary adjustments to optimize system performance. Your keen problem-solving skills will help keep everything on track.

Train End-Users

Once systems are installed, you’ll train end-users on how to operate them effectively. Providing ongoing support is a key part of your role, ensuring customers are comfortable and confident in using their new security systems.

Coordinate with Project Teams

Your role will involve coordinating with project teams to ensure installations meet design specifications and deadlines. Communication is key, and your ability to work collaboratively will ensure project success.

Additional Daily Activities

• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Keep detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.

What You Need to Be a Security Alarm Installer

Experience and Skills

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years in the field as a Security Alarm Installer.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting access control and surveillance systems. Experience with low-voltage security systems and wiring is essential.
