Lead Fire Alarm Technician Position Overview
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Core Lead Fire Alarm Technician Responsibilities
Lead fire alarm installations from pre-wire to final inspection on large-scale commercial projects. Program fire alarm control panels (FACP), initiate and notification devices, and networked systems. Oversee point-to-point testing, NFPA 72 compliance inspections, and final acceptance testing with AHJs. Train and mentor junior technicians, delegate tasks, and supervise quality control. Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, and fire marshals to ensure code compliance and adherence to project timelines. Prepare as-builts and maintain detailed installation records for turnover packages. Handle advanced troubleshooting and system upgrades.
Advanced Technical Duties
- Design and implement networked fire alarm systems in complex infrastructures.
- Develop and execute customized fire safety plans for unique commercial environments.
- Conduct comprehensive system audits and upgrades to ensure peak performance.

Comfortable managing crews and interacting with inspectors and clients.
