What Your Week Actually Looks Like

As a Lead Fire Alarm Technician with Prime Partners, your week is filled with dynamic and rewarding tasks that set us apart in the Brandon, FL area. You’ll spearhead large-scale commercial fire alarm installations, taking projects from pre-wire to the final inspection. This includes programming fire alarm control panels, setting up initiation and notification devices, and linking networked systems. You’ll oversee point-to-point testing, ensuring our work meets NFPA 72 standards, and conduct final acceptance tests with AHJs. Training and mentoring our junior technicians is a key part of your role, as is delegating tasks and supervising quality control. You’ll work closely with general contractors, project managers, and fire marshals, ensuring code compliance and adherence to timelines. Expect to prepare as-builts and keep detailed installation records, handling advanced troubleshooting along the way.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To thrive with us, extensive experience with commercial fire alarm systems is crucial, particularly with brands like EST, Notifier, Silent Knight, and Fire-Lite. While NICET Level II or higher is preferred, we value practical skills over paper qualifications. You should have expert knowledge of NFPA 70 and 72, and the ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and construction drawings. Strong leadership skills, team coordination experience, and excellent communication are essential, as you’ll manage crews and interact with inspectors and clients. We’re looking for someone with 5+ years in the field, who brings both expertise and the right personality traits to excel in this role.
