Prime Partners in Carmel, IN, is urgently seeking a Lead Cable Technician for long-term commercial projects. The ideal candidate will lead structured cabling projects, ensuring efficient layout, installation, and certification of network infrastructure. You will be integral in managing teams, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring all systems meet industry standards and project timelines.
Qualifications for Lead Cable Technician
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Lead Cable Technician
- Expertise in structured cabling for commercial sites, including BICSI methods and TIA/EIA standards
- Proficiency with Fluke DTX/DSX certification tools and blueprint reading
Responsibilities for Lead Cable Technician
Lead and oversee all aspects of structured cabling projects on large commercial sites, from initial layout to final certification. Supervise crews in the installation and termination of CAT5e/CAT6 and fiber optic cables within MDFs/IDFs. Ensure accurate termination and labeling of patch panels, jacks, and fiber enclosures. Conduct rigorous testing and certification of all cabling. Implement cable management systems such as ladder racks and cable trays according to blueprints. Collaborate with IT, electrical, and general contractor teams to synchronize low-voltage work with broader construction schedules. Maintain thorough documentation with QA/QC checklists and redlines.
