Journeyman Electrician Position Overview

Being a Journeyman Electrician at Prime Partners means immersing yourself in a dynamic and challenging environment where no two days are alike. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems across various commercial construction sites. You’ll work on projects that span multiple sectors, from high-rise office buildings to cutting-edge manufacturing plants. Within our team structure, you’ll collaborate closely with experienced electricians, apprentices, and project managers, all under the guidance of a seasoned site supervisor. Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on commercial construction sites, ensuring all work adheres to NEC standards and client specifications.
• Run EMT, RMC, and PVC conduit, pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring, and install lighting, panels, switchgear, and control systems.
• Interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to complete installations accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with project managers and other trades to maintain construction timelines and ensure seamless project execution.
• Train apprentices, enforce job site safety protocols, and ensure installations comply with all relevant safety standards.
• Perform advanced technical duties such as programming PLCs, conducting infrared thermography for preventative maintenance, and utilizing advanced diagnostics for complex troubleshooting.
• Engage in regional projects, including large-scale commercial developments in The Woodlands and high-tech installations in Conroe.
• Uphold rigorous safety protocols, including daily tool safety checks, adherence to PPE requirements, and participation in regular safety training sessions.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Journeyman Electrician position, candidates must possess:

• A valid journeyman electrician license or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in conduit bending, panel terminations, and blueprint reading.
• Extensive knowledge of NEC codes and commercial electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supervising apprentices.
• The ability to work independently or as part of a crew in fast-paced commercial environments.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
• Essential certifications such as OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, and CPR/First Aid.
• A robust understanding of advanced electrical concepts and practices.

Tools & Equipment

Our Journeyman Electricians utilize a variety of tools daily, including:

• Conduit benders, wire strippers, and multimeters.
• Personal tools such as insulated screwdrivers, pliers, and a reliable tool belt.
• Company-provided equipment like power drills, saws, and testing devices, ensuring you have everything you need to excel.

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in various conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
• Exposure to outdoor elements and the necessity to wear appropriate safety gear, such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses.
