Your Daily Tasks as a Journeyman Electrician

Key Responsibilities

Your day will typically begin with a team briefing to discuss the day’s objectives and safety protocols. You will then engage in the installation and maintenance of advanced electrical systems. This includes precise routing, bending, and securing of conduit types like EMT, rigid, and PVC to create complex wiring layouts. Your expertise will be crucial in assembling and installing switchgear, distribution panels, and motor control centers.

Practical Work Examples

Throughout the day, you will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, ensuring the proper placement and installation of electrical components. Conducting on-site load calculations for lighting and power systems will be a regular part of your routine.
