What You’ll Do as a Journeyman Electrician

As a Journeyman Electrician at Prime Partners, you will play a crucial role in our multi-year project in Lawrenceville, GA, with additional opportunities in nearby cities like Duluth, Suwanee, and Snellville. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across various mission-critical facilities, such as data centers, hospitals, and emergency response centers. You will be pivotal in maintaining the reliability and security of our electrical infrastructure, working on projects that demand precision and expertise.

Your Daily Tasks as a Journeyman Electrician

As part of your daily activities, you will:

• Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs to guarantee uninterrupted power supply in high-uptime environments.
• Service and maintain UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear, and battery storage units to ensure readiness during power disruptions.
• Conduct infrared thermography inspections and monitor power quality, preventing potential failures before they occur.
• Install grounding systems, PDUs, and structured cabling, collaborating with engineers and IT specialists to optimize electrical infrastructure.
• Follow strict operational protocols and redundancy procedures, aligning with industry standards for reliability and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues swiftly and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of electrical components.

What You Need to Be a Journeyman Electrician

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• A valid Journeyman Electrician certification with significant experience in mission-critical electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of backup power infrastructure, redundancy principles, and emergency electrical procedures.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as power quality analyzers and thermal imaging devices.
• Hands-on ability to work in high-pressure environments where precision and reliability are paramount.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE power standards, and OSHA electrical safety guidelines.
• At least 5+ years of field experience as a Journeyman Electrician, showcasing your capability to handle complex electrical tasks.
