What You’ll Do as a Journeyman Electrician

As a Journeyman Electrician at Prime Partners, you’ll be an essential part of our team working on multi-year projects in Bangor, ME, with additional opportunities in neighboring cities like Brewer, Orono, Old Town, and Hampden. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful installation and maintenance of electrical systems in high-rise office buildings and large-scale commercial projects. Your Daily Tasks as a Journeyman Electrician

Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to demonstrate your skills. You’ll be tasked with installing and maintaining advanced electrical systems, ensuring that every component is perfectly aligned with project specifications. Your day will typically involve:

• Precision routing, bending, and securing of conduit (EMT, rigid, and PVC) to support complex wiring layouts.
• Assembling and installing switchgear, distribution panels, and motor control centers in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
• Conducting on-site load calculations for lighting and power systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Supervising apprentices, guiding them through wiring and panel installations while emphasizing adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
• Troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues in newly installed systems, focusing on power distribution and lighting controls.
• Performing routine inspections of installed systems to ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
• Collaborating with other trades to coordinate installations and modifications, ensuring seamless integration with other building systems.

What You Need to Be a Journeyman Electrician

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong foundation of hands-on experience and technical skills. We’re looking for candidates with:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, demonstrating proficiency in advanced conduit bending techniques, including offsets and saddles.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical documentation accurately.
• Expertise in using hand and power tools for installing and maintaining lighting controls, motor controls, and distribution equipment.
• A proven track record of leading teams and managing job site workflows efficiently to meet deadlines.
• A commitment to safety and quality, ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and standards.

Compensation
