What You’ll Do as a Fire Alarm Technician

Overview of the Role

As a Fire Alarm Technician at Prime Partners, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring safety and compliance in our multi-year project located in Wickenburg, AZ. We’re also expanding our projects to nearby cities such as Surprise, Sun City, and El Mirage. Your role will be critical in installing and maintaining fire alarm systems that protect lives and property. This isn’t just about wires and panels; it’s about making sure each installation meets the highest safety standards.

Your Daily Tasks as a Fire Alarm Technician

Installation and Programming

You’ll be tasked with installing and programming fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, strobes, and other critical system components for our commercial new construction projects. Your work will ensure that every system operates optimally and meets both local and national fire safety standards.

System Testing and Troubleshooting

Perform detailed testing and verification of installed systems to ensure they are fully functional and compliant. When issues arise, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve them promptly, keeping our projects on schedule and our systems reliable.

Collaboration and Coordination

Work closely with general contractors and other trades to ensure the timely and seamless installation of fire alarm systems. Your ability to collaborate effectively is essential for the smooth running of our construction projects.

Maintenance of Records

Maintain accurate records of all installations, inspections, and repairs. This documentation is crucial for compliance and future maintenance.

Additional Daily Activities

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on existing fire alarm systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced technicians and apprentices.
  • Stay updated with the latest fire safety regulations and technological advancements.

What You Need to Be a Fire Alarm Technician

Experience and Expertise

  • 3+ Years of Experience: You should have a minimum of three years in the field as a Fire Alarm Technician.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in installing, programming, and testing fire alarm systems is a must. Your ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues swiftly will be crucial.
  • Knowledge of Codes: Familiarity with fire codes and regulatory standards is essential to ensure compliance and safety.
