Fire Alarm Technician Position Overview

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Fire Alarm Technician with Prime Partners, you will start your day with a briefing session, reviewing project plans, and setting up your schedule. Your primary responsibility will be the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems. You will be tasked with ensuring these systems are compliant with local and national safety standards.

Core Fire Alarm Technician Responsibilities

• Installation and programming of fire alarm control panels, smoke detectors, strobes, and other system components.
• System testing, verification, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
• Collaboration with general contractors and other trades to ensure timely installations.
• Maintenance of accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.
• Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.

Advanced Technical Duties

• Integrate fire alarm systems with building automation systems.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics using advanced testing equipment.
