Your role involves installing, maintaining, and ensuring the reliability of fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your Daily Tasks as a Fire Alarm Installer
As part of your daily routine, you’ll be responsible for installing fire alarm systems in high-density buildings, ensuring each component is meticulously placed for optimal performance. You’ll run conduit and pull fire-rated cables, laying the groundwork for robust system installations. Your expertise will be crucial as you mount and connect control panels, notification devices, smoke detectors, and heat sensors, ensuring everything is in compliance with the necessary codes.
You’ll conduct functional testing of the fire alarm systems, verifying their compliance with Wyoming’s building codes, while also coordinating with HVAC and sprinkler contractors to seamlessly integrate the fire alarm systems into the broader building safety networks. Repairing or replacing faulty components will be part of your role, ensuring the system’s reliability remains uncompromised. Additionally, you’ll document installation details and system configurations, keeping records for inspections and customer references.
Common daily activities also include troubleshooting system issues, attending team briefings to align on project goals, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed to maintain a secure working environment.
What You Need to Be a Fire Alarm Installer
To excel in this role, you’ll need a strong background in installing and maintaining fire alarm control panels and field devices. Your skills in pulling fire-rated wiring and connecting notification devices will be essential. Familiarity with testing and troubleshooting tools is a must, as is the ability to interpret building plans and system schematics for seamless integration. Compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of $26.77 to $31.71 per hour, depending on your experience.
