What You’ll Do as an Estimator
Welcome aboard! As an Estimator at Prime Partners, you’ll be the backbone of our financial and planning operations for multi-year projects right here in Fort Worth, TX, and neighboring cities like Arlington, Grapevine, and Weatherford. Your role is crucial in ensuring our projects kick off on the right foot by providing accurate and competitive cost estimates. You’ll be working closely with our construction teams to ensure everything runs smoothly and on budget.
Your Daily Tasks as an Estimator
Conduct Detailed Plan Take-offs
Your day starts with diving into blueprints and project plans, meticulously conducting take-offs to assess the materials, labor, and time required for each project phase. This is where your keen eye for detail really shines.
Gather Vendor Quotes and Interpret Specifications
Next, you’ll reach out to vendors to gather quotes, ensuring you have the latest pricing and product information. Your ability to interpret product specifications will be vital in aligning vendor offerings with project needs.
Calculate Quantities and Prepare Bid Proposals
You’ll spend a portion of your day crunching numbers, calculating the quantities needed for various materials. With these calculations, you’ll prepare comprehensive bid proposals that accurately reflect the project’s scope and requirements.
Collaborate on RFIs and Value Engineering
Collaboration is key. You’ll work with project managers to create and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide value engineering recommendations, ensuring we can deliver quality work while staying within budgetary constraints.
Maintain Communication with Stakeholders
Keeping lines of communication open is essential. You’ll regularly interact with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure everyone is on the same page and that bids are both accurate and competitive.
Additional Daily Activities
- Evaluate project timelines and coordinate with the scheduling team to ensure alignment of resources.
- Attend site visits to gain a better understanding of project specifics and potential challenges.
- Update project cost databases to reflect current market trends and pricing shifts.
What You Need to Be an Estimator
Essential Experience and Skills
- 3-10 years of practical experience as an Estimator in the field.
- Intermediate knowledge and hands-on experience in commercial site development and earthwork.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and the full MS Office suite is essential.
- Familiarity with AGTEK or similar dirt take-off software is highly desired.
Must-Have Abilities
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Compensation

- Earn between $62.37-$74.78 per hour, depending on your experience.
