What You’ll Do as an Electrical Project Manager

At Prime Partners, the role of an Electrical Project Manager is pivotal in steering our multi-year projects in Elkhart, IN, with additional ventures in nearby cities like Goshen, Mishawaka, and South Bend. As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be at the helm of ensuring our electrical construction projects meet the highest standards. Your day-to-day activities will revolve around keeping projects on track, within budget, and ensuring all safety and quality measures are upheld.

Your Daily Tasks as an Electrical Project Manager

Your primary responsibility will be to plan, execute, and oversee every aspect of electrical construction projects, particularly in commercial new construction environments. This includes:

• Developing and Managing Project Schedules: You’ll be responsible for crafting detailed project timelines, ensuring all phases are completed on time.
• Budget Oversight and Resource Allocation: Keep a keen eye on financial metrics and efficiently allocate resources to maintain cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaison with Key Stakeholders: Act as the main point of contact for clients, general contractors, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring all parties are aligned with project goals and resolving any issues that arise.
• Reviewing Designs and Approvals: Carefully assess electrical designs, submittals, and material orders to ensure they meet all specifications and codes.
• Conducting Site Visits: Regularly visit job sites to monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality workmanship.
• Documentation and Reporting: Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Swiftly address on-site challenges and make informed decisions to keep the project moving forward.

What You Need to Be an Electrical Project Manager

Prime Partners seeks individuals with extensive experience in managing commercial electrical projects from start to finish. To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Strong Knowledge of Electrical Systems: A comprehensive understanding of electrical systems and construction processes, along with familiarity with local codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience with software such as Procore or Primavera P6 is crucial for effective project management.
• Leadership and Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to lead teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and maintain organized project documentation.
• Hands-On Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in the field as an Electrical Project Manager, showcasing your ability to handle multiple large-scale projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Practical skills to identify issues and implement solutions quickly on-site.
