What You’ll Do as an Electrical Project Manager

As an Electrical Project Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the seamless execution of electrical construction projects. Your role is pivotal in guiding teams and projects to successful completion, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Your Daily Tasks as an Electrical Project Manager
Plan and Execute Projects
Your day begins with reviewing project timelines and schedules. You’ll be crafting comprehensive plans that cover every phase of the project, from concept to completion. This includes developing and managing project schedules and budgets, ensuring that resource allocation is optimized for timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Coordinate and Communicate
You’ll be the primary point of contact between clients, general contractors, engineers, and subcontractors. Facilitating clear communication is key, as you’ll need to resolve issues promptly and keep everyone aligned with project goals. Regular meetings and updates will be a part of your routine.
Review and Approve Designs
With a keen eye for detail, you’ll review and approve electrical designs, submittals, and material orders. Ensuring these elements meet specifications and comply with local codes is crucial to maintaining project integrity.
Conduct Site Visits
Regular site visits are essential to monitor project progress. You’ll enforce safety standards and ensure quality workmanship. These visits allow you to provide accurate progress reports and address any on-site challenges.
Manage Documentation
You’ll be responsible for the meticulous management of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Keeping stakeholders updated with accurate information is part of your daily tasks.

What You Need to Be an Electrical Project Manager
Experience and Knowledge
To thrive in this role, you’ll need extensive experience managing commercial electrical projects from inception to completion. A minimum of 5+ years in the field as an Electrical Project Manager is essential. Your understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and local codes will be foundational to your success.
