What You’ll Do as a Data Center Technician
As a Data Center Technician at Prime Partners, you’ll be an integral part of our construction projects in Gilroy, CA, and the surrounding areas, including Morgan Hill, San Martin, and Hollister. Your role will be hands-on, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and optimization of our data center infrastructure. You’ll be working on a multi-year project that demands precision and reliability, ensuring that our data centers operate at peak efficiency every day.
Your Daily Tasks as a Data Center Technician
Installation and Configuration
Your primary responsibility will be installing and configuring data center infrastructure. This includes setting up servers, cabling, and power distribution units within commercial construction sites. You’ll ensure that all installations adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Routine Maintenance and Testing
You’ll conduct regular maintenance checks and testing to guarantee the reliability of critical systems. This involves monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues, and implementing solutions promptly to prevent downtime.
Cable Management and Cooling Optimization
Managing cable systems and optimizing airflow for efficient cooling will be part of your daily routine. You’ll ensure that the data center environment is organized and running smoothly, which is crucial for maintaining system performance.
Documentation and Coordination
Keeping detailed records of configurations, system changes, and performance metrics will be essential. You’ll also coordinate with project stakeholders, ensuring that data center setups meet operational requirements and adhere to industry standards.
Additional Daily Activities

What You Need to Be a Data Center Technician
Experience and Expertise
You should have at least 3+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician. This role requires a deep understanding of data center hardware, cabling, and power systems. Familiarity with industry best practices for system reliability and efficiency is essential.
