What You’ll Do as a Commercial Electrician
As a Commercial Electrician at Prime Partners, you’ll be integral to our multi-year project in Norcross, GA, with additional projects in neighboring cities such as Duluth, Peachtree Corners, and Lilburn. Your role will be hands-on and vital, ensuring that renewable energy projects are executed to the highest standards. You’ll be working with a team of skilled professionals, focusing on the installation, wiring, and maintenance of commercial-scale solar systems. Our projects are designed to push the boundaries of efficiency and sustainability, and your expertise will help us achieve these goals.
Your Daily Tasks as a Commercial Electrician
On a typical day, you’ll:

Install, Wire, and Maintain Systems: You’ll work on commercial-scale solar panel systems, inverters, and battery storage units. These tasks are fundamental to our renewable energy projects and require precision and expertise.

Rooftop and Ground-Mounted Arrays: Whether on rooftops or ground-mounted systems, you’ll connect DC wiring to AC infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration into the grid.

Troubleshoot and Repair: Identifying and resolving issues with PV systems, microinverters, and energy management systems will be a core part of your role, ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably.

Optimize Electrical Components: You’ll configure electrical components to enhance efficiency and facilitate grid integration, making sure our installations are top-notch.

Perform Diagnostics: Conducting insulation resistance testing, voltage measurements, and diagnostics to assess system performance will be part of your routine to maintain high operational standards.

Engage in Safety Practices: Safety is paramount. You’ll regularly inspect and ensure that all installations comply with NEC codes and interconnection standards with utility providers.

Collaborate and Communicate: Working closely with other team members and project managers, you’ll ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality expectations.
What You Need to Be a Commercial Electrician
To thrive in this role, you should be a Journeyman Electrician with at least 3 years of field experience, particularly in solar PV and energy storage systems. A strong understanding of electrical code compliance for renewable energy is essential. You’ll need to be familiar with inverter troubleshooting, energy monitoring platforms, and grid-tied solar systems.

Hands-On Abilities: Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments.

Certifications: OSHA 30 and NABCEP PV Installation Professional certifications are preferred.

Must-Have Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety practices. Strong communication skills are also critical for coordinating with team members and project managers.

Prime Partners offers a competitive salary ranging from $32.89 to $33.96 per hour, depending on experience.
