What You’ll Do as a Commercial Apprentice Electrician

As a Commercial Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners, you will be an integral part of our electrical team, working on multi-year projects in Martinsville, IN, and surrounding areas, including Mooresville, Bloomington, and Plainfield. Your role will involve supporting experienced electricians in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in commercial buildings. This is a hands-on position where you will learn the ropes of commercial electrical work while contributing to the success of our projects.

Your Daily Tasks as a Commercial Apprentice Electrician

As a Commercial Apprentice Electrician, your day will typically start with a safety briefing to ensure all team members are aware of the day’s objectives and potential hazards. You will:

• Assist in the installation of conduit systems, wiring, and electrical panels on large-scale construction sites.
• Learn to interpret basic electrical plans and schematics, helping to layout and install wiring according to specifications.
• Pull wire through conduits and assemble lighting fixtures, ensuring all installations are secure and meet safety standards.
• Prepare materials and tools for senior electricians, ensuring they have everything needed for the day’s tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, which is crucial for safety and efficiency.
• Participate actively in toolbox talks and adhere to OSHA standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Engage in troubleshooting and repair of commercial electrical systems under the guidance of experienced electricians.

What You Need to Be a Commercial Apprentice Electrician

To succeed as a Commercial Apprentice Electrician, you should have a strong interest in commercial electrical work and a keen eagerness to develop your trade skills. You should also possess:

• Familiarity with basic tools such as wire strippers, pliers, and multimeters.
• The ability to follow detailed instructions precisely and retain information effectively.
