What You’ll Do as a Cable Technician

As a Cable Technician at Prime Partners, you’ll play a crucial role in our multi-year project in West Covina, CA, with additional opportunities in nearby cities such as Covina, Baldwin Park, Azusa, and Glendora. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems, which are vital for the communication networks of our commercial clients. This role offers a hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced construction environment.

Your Daily Tasks as a Cable Technician

As a Cable Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Installation of Structured Cabling Systems: You’ll install CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cables in various commercial settings, ensuring that each setup meets the specific needs of our clients.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: You’ll conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of cabling systems using industry-standard tools to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
• Cable Termination: You’ll perform terminations on patch panels, jacks, and network devices, ensuring secure and efficient connections.
• Installation of Cable Pathways: You’ll set up conduits, raceways, and J-hooks, following detailed blueprints and adhering to strict safety codes.
• Collaboration with Team Members: You’ll work closely with project managers and clients, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
• Documentation and Reporting: You’ll document installations and maintenance work, providing detailed reports to project managers and clients.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain tools and equipment to ensure reliability and safety on job sites.

What You Need to Be a Cable Technician
