As a Cable Technician, you play a pivotal role in our construction team. You will be critical in ensuring that our projects are equipped with top-notch structured cabling systems. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of communication infrastructures in commercial environments.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities

Structured Cabling Installation and Testing

Every day, you’ll dive into the heart of our projects by installing, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems. Whether it’s CAT5e, CAT6, or advanced fiber optic cables, your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity across our sites. You’ll be responsible for cable terminations on patch panels, jacks, and network devices, ensuring each connection is robust and reliable.

Cable Pathway Construction

You’ll construct and install cable pathways, including conduits, raceways, and J-hooks. This requires a keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to safety practices and adherence to blueprints. Your ability to interpret these plans is essential to maintain the integrity and safety of the installations.

Collaboration and Compliance

Working closely with project managers and clients, you’ll strive to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards. Part of your role involves conducting cable testing and certification using industry-standard tools to ensure performance and compliance. Your work ensures that every cable you install meets our rigorous standards.

Additional Responsibilities

On top of these core duties, you’ll also perform:

• Routine maintenance checks to prevent potential system failures.
• Documentation of work performed for project transparency and future reference.
• Coordination with other construction trades to ensure seamless project workflow.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Required Experience and Skills

To excel as a Cable Technician at Prime Partners, you need at least two years of experience in the field. Your hands-on abilities will be crucial, including:

• Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting structured cabling systems.
• Expertise in cable testing, termination, and certification procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work effectively in active construction sites.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
