Cable Technician Position Overview
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
In your role as a Cable Technician with Prime Partners, each day will bring new challenges and opportunities. You’ll be tasked with installing, maintaining, and repairing various structured cabling systems, ensuring that each project meets our stringent quality standards. Your day will likely involve site assessments, cable pulling, terminations, and testing.

Core Cable Technician Responsibilities
Installation and Testing
- Install, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems, including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cables, within commercial environments.
- Perform cable terminations on patch panels, jacks, and network devices.
Advanced Technical Duties
- Conduct advanced testing and certification using industry-standard tools such as Fluke Networks testers to ensure performance and compliance.
- Install complex cable pathways, including conduits, raceways, and J-hooks, following detailed blueprints and safety codes.
- Assist in the design and implementation of network infrastructure for large-scale projects.
Regional Project Specifics
- Work on high-profile projects in downtown Arvada and surrounding areas, adapting to local codes and client specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Safety Protocols
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, ensuring all installations comply with OSHA standards.
- Regularly participate in safety meetings and training to stay updated on best practices.
Qualifications
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Cable Technician, with proven expertise in structured cabling installations and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in cable testing, termination, and certification procedures is essential.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and work effectively in active commercial construction sites.
Certifications
- BICSI Installer or Technician certification preferred.
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification is advantageous.
Technical Knowledge

- Familiarity with fish tapes and pull rods is necessary.
