Cable Puller Position Overview

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Cable Puller with Prime Partners, your day-to-day tasks will involve the meticulous handling of low-voltage cables to ensure seamless connectivity in commercial buildings. You will be responsible for pulling, routing, and securing cables such as CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics. Your role will also include labeling and organizing cables, preparing work areas, and setting up necessary tools and materials.

Cable Pullers at Prime Partners work on a variety of projects, including new commercial constructions, office renovations, and expansions. You will be exposed to diverse environments, from bustling construction sites in downtown Spokane to more suburban settings in surrounding cities.

Core Cable Puller Responsibilities

  • Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cables, including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics, for commercial construction projects.
  • Assist with labeling and organizing cables to ensure proper connections.
  • Prepare work areas by setting up ladders, tools, and materials.
  • Follow installation diagrams to create cable pathways using conduits, trays, and raceways.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site while adhering to all safety regulations.

Advanced Technical Duties

  • Conduct troubleshooting and testing of cable installations using advanced testing equipment.
  • Implement complex cable routing solutions in challenging building layouts.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of network infrastructure for high-tech facilities.
  • Utilize knowledge of regional building codes and standards to ensure compliance across projects in Spokane and neighboring areas.

Safety Protocols

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of low-voltage cabling systems.

  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift equipment, and work in confined spaces.
  • 0-1 years minimum experience as a Cable Puller.
  • Essential certifications: OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid.
  • Required technical knowledge: Familiarity with cable testing tools and network infrastructure components.

Tools & Equipment

  • Cable pullers use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, and punch-down tools.
  • Testing and diagnostic equipment like cable testers and toners.

Personal Tools

  • Cable Pullers are expected to have their own basic hand tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, and a utility knife.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
