What You’ll Do as a Cable Puller

As a Cable Puller at Prime Partners, you’ll be part of a dedicated team working on a multi-year project in Greenwood, IN, with additional projects extending to neighboring cities like Indianapolis, Whiteland, and Franklin. Your role will be crucial to our success, focusing on the installation and maintenance of low-voltage cabling systems in commercial construction settings. You’ll be the backbone of our communication infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and connection across our sites.

Your Daily Tasks as a Cable Puller

Pull, Route, and Secure Cables

Your primary duty will be to pull, route, and secure CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cables. You’ll work within commercial construction environments, where precision and attention to detail are paramount.

Assist with Labeling and Organizing

You’ll assist in labeling and organizing cables, ensuring they are correctly connected. This task requires meticulous attention to detail to maintain clear and efficient communication pathways.

Prepare Work Areas

Setting up ladders, tools, and materials will be part of your daily routine. You’ll prepare the workspace to ensure that all installations proceed smoothly and efficiently.

Follow Installation Diagrams

You’ll follow detailed installation diagrams to create cable pathways using conduits, trays, and raceways. This involves working closely with our installation team to ensure that all systems are correctly aligned.

Maintain Job Site Safety

Maintaining a safe and clean job site is essential. You’ll adhere to all safety regulations to ensure your safety and that of your colleagues.

Additional Daily Activities

• Conduct routine inspections of installed cables to ensure integrity and performance.
• Coordinate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve installation issues promptly.
• Assist in inventory management by tracking tools and materials used on-site.

What You Need to Be a Cable Puller

Basic Understanding of Low-Voltage Systems
