At Prime Partners, the role of a Cable Puller is vital for the seamless execution of our commercial construction projects. As a Cable Puller in Fort Wayne and its neighboring areas including New Haven, Auburn, and Columbia City, you’ll be the backbone of our network installation teams. Our multi-year project portfolio demands precision and dedication, and you’ll be at the forefront, ensuring that all cable installations are completed to the highest standards. Day-to-day, you’ll engage in hands-on work that is both challenging and rewarding, where your efforts directly contribute to the overall success of our projects.

Your Daily Tasks as a Cable Puller

Your daily responsibilities will revolve around the installation and management of low-voltage cables such as CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics. You’ll start your day by preparing the work area, setting up ladders, tools, and the necessary materials. Key tasks include pulling, routing, and securing these cables throughout our commercial construction sites. You’ll assist in labeling and organizing cables to ensure all connections are correct and efficient. Following detailed installation diagrams, you’ll create cable pathways utilizing conduits, trays, and raceways.

You’ll also be responsible for:

• Testing and troubleshooting cable connections to ensure proper functionality.
• Coordinating with other team members to streamline the installation process.
• Reporting any issues or discrepancies to the project manager to ensure timely resolution.

Maintaining a safe and clean job site is paramount, and you’ll adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to protect yourself and your colleagues.

What You Need to Be a Cable Puller

To thrive in this role, you should have a basic understanding of low-voltage cabling systems and a robust work ethic. The ability to follow detailed instructions is crucial, as is the physical capability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy equipment, and work comfortably in confined spaces. Ideally, you’ll bring 0-1 years of experience in the field of cable pulling.
