Cable Puller Position Overview
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Core Cable Puller Responsibilities
Installation and Termination
Assist in the installation of low voltage cabling for data centers and office networks, including Ethernet and fiber optic cables. Terminate cables with jacks and patch panels to ensure a reliable connection.
Cable Pathways and Structured Systems
Install cable pathways, including trays and raceways, to support structured cabling systems, ensuring neat and efficient cable management.
Testing and Certification
Perform testing and certification of installed cables using network testing equipment, ensuring all installations meet industry standards.
Documentation and Troubleshooting
Work closely with project managers to document cable runs and labeling for system maps. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues during installation and final commissioning.
Advanced Technical Duties
- Implement advanced cable routing techniques to optimize network performance.
- Integrate cable management systems with existing network infrastructures.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in handling and terminating Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
- Skilled in using hand tools and cable testing devices.
- Knowledge of cable management techniques for professional installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills for addressing connectivity issues.
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces and elevated environments.
- 2+ years minimum experience as a Cable Puller.
- Essential certifications: BICSI Installer Certification, OSHA Safety Certification.
- Required technical knowledge in network infrastructure and cable management.
