What You’ll Do as a Cable Puller
As a Cable Puller at Prime Partners, you’ll be an essential part of our team working on a multi-year project in Birmingham, AL, with additional projects in nearby cities such as Hoover, Tuscaloosa, and Montgomery. Your role is pivotal in setting the groundwork for our commercial construction endeavors, ensuring that all low-voltage cabling is installed efficiently and correctly. This position is hands-on, requiring day-to-day involvement in the installation and maintenance of cable systems, predominantly focusing on CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics.
Your Daily Tasks as a Cable Puller

Cable Installation and Routing: You’ll be responsible for pulling, routing, and securing low-voltage cables throughout our commercial construction sites. This involves working with CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics, ensuring all cables are installed according to project specifications.

Labeling and Organizing: Assisting in the labeling and organizing of cables is crucial to maintaining clarity and ensuring proper connections. This task contributes to the efficiency and functionality of our systems.

Preparation of Work Areas: Setting up ladders, tools, and materials is part of your daily routine. You’ll prepare each work area to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

Following Installation Diagrams: You’ll need to interpret and follow installation diagrams to create cable pathways using conduits, trays, and raceways, making sure everything aligns with safety and project standards.

Maintaining Safety Standards: Keeping a safe and clean job site is paramount. You’ll adhere to all safety regulations to ensure a risk-free environment for yourself and your coworkers.

What You Need to Be a Cable Puller
To excel as a Cable Puller, you should have a basic understanding of low-voltage cabling systems. A strong work ethic and the ability to follow detailed instructions are essential. You’ll need the physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift equipment, and work in confined spaces comfortably. Although 0-1 years of experience in the field as a Cable Puller is preferred, we value hands-on abilities and a willingness to learn. Must-have skills include:
