What You’ll Do as a Cable Puller

As a Cable Puller at Prime Partners, you’ll be an essential part of our team working on exciting, large-scale commercial construction projects in Austin, TX, and nearby cities such as Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville. Your role will be to ensure that our low-voltage cabling systems are installed efficiently and correctly, supporting the technological backbone of modern commercial buildings. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our projects, making you a vital player in our operations.

Your Daily Tasks as a Cable Puller

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a variety of practical tasks that keep our projects on track. Primarily, you will:

• Pull, Route, and Secure Cables: You will work with CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cables, ensuring they are correctly routed and secured for optimal performance on our commercial sites.
• Label and Organize Cables: Assisting in labeling and organizing cables will be crucial to maintaining clear and accurate connections throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare Work Areas: You’ll set up ladders, tools, and materials, ensuring that work areas are ready for efficient cable installation.
• Follow Installation Diagrams: Using installation diagrams, you will create cable pathways using conduits, trays, and raceways to meet project specifications.
• Maintain Job Site Safety and Cleanliness: You’ll help maintain a safe and clean job site, adhering strictly to all safety regulations and protocols.
• Assist in Testing and Troubleshooting: Occasionally, you will assist in testing cable connections and troubleshooting any issues to ensure system reliability and performance.

What You Need to Be a Cable Puller

To thrive as a Cable Puller, you need a basic understanding of low-voltage cabling systems. Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Experience: 0-1 years in the field as a Cable Puller, though a willingness to learn and adapt is crucial.
• Must-Have Skills:
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift equipment, and work in confined spaces.
  • Basic problem-solving skills to identify and resolve minor issues on the spot.
• Hands-On Abilities: Comfort with using various hand tools and equipment necessary for cable installation.
